Julinka recently explored the Tate and discovered the mesmerizing 'Behind the Red Moon' by El Anatsui.
Thousands of metal bottle tops and fragments, sourced from Nigeria, were masterfully crumpled, crushed, and stitched to form monumental abstract compositions. Anatsui's creation, influenced by histories of encounter and the transatlantic slave trade, is a dance between bodies and sculptures - a poetic journey of movement and interaction.
Also well recommended is the 'World in Common' photography exhibition. This curated collection, featuring artists spanning generations, transcends traditional bounds. The exhibition becomes a tapestry of diverse cultures, historical narratives, and powerful themes like spirituality, identity, urbanism, and the climate emergency.
